Members' Observations - M1

M1 supernova remnant photo
John Noble photographed M1 through an LX10 Schmidt Cassegrain telescope from Cowley, Oxford. He used Provia 1600 film, pushed to 3200 ASA, and an exposure of 15 minutes at f/10.

M1 is located 6,000 light years away in the constellation of Taurus. Known as the Crab Nebula, it is a remnant of a supernova witnessed by observers in China in 1054.
